Coverage

Europe, truly door-to-door.

HORSETRANS covers 46 European countries from the Balkans to Scandinavia. Whether you need a one-way delivery from Hamburg to Seville, a circuit from Bratislava through Vienna, Budapest and Warsaw, or a cross-continent move from Dublin to Bucharest — one price, one driver, one transporter.

We file all the paperwork — equine passports, chip verification, health certificates, customs for non-Schengen legs (UA, ME, RS, BA, AL, MK, XK, MD, TR). We coordinate with stud books, breed associations and sales venues like Vechta, Pompadour, Lanaken, Monaco and Hawkstone.

HORSETRANS Plus members top up balance once and draw it down across every booking — from the Bratislava short hops at a €29 flat pickup fee to 2,500 km marathons. Private journey, no consolidation, just your horse on board.

Inside a HORSETRANS custom transport

Stable relocations, sale deliveries, training-camp moves, studbook visits — every custom transport runs through the same five-step operational flow. Here is exactly what happens from quote to handover.

Routing and quoting

The quote engine pulls a real OSRM route from your pickup to your destination through HORSETRANS infrastructure. The number on screen is loaded kilometres × rate + pickup fee — no padding. For routes crossing non-Schengen borders (Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Moldova, Turkey) we add a paperwork line item upfront — typically €50–€150 depending on the border and whether customs inspection is physical or digital. For routes involving ferry crossings (Ireland-UK-continent, Scandinavia-Germany) the ferry ticket is a pass-through line item at the actual operator price.

Booking confirmation and driver assignment

Confirmed bookings lock in the pickup date, destination, and load configuration. Within 24 hours we assign a driver and transporter to the job; you receive the driver's name, phone number, transporter registration, and a live GPS tracking link valid from departure through arrival. For premium booking lead times (10+ days out) you can request a specific driver from our roster of 3-5 regulars — each has 20+ years of specialised horse transport experience and a clean record at major European venues.

The day of the move

The driver arrives at the pickup address within a 30-minute window agreed at booking. Loading checks: passport match, owner-signed handover sheet, photo of horse at loading, inspection of tack and feed you've included. For multi-horse loads the driver loads in the order you prefer — typically your most confident horse first so the nervous ones see calm cabin behaviour before boarding. Before departure the driver shares a final GPS link and the expected arrival window.

Handover and aftercare

At the destination the driver unloads the horse, confirms condition (watered, eaten on the road, no obvious stress signs), hands over any tack and feed you sent along, and signs the delivery sheet with the receiving handler. Within 6 hours you receive a trip summary email with the full GPS track, stop timestamps, and a photo archive — usually 15-30 photos taken at rest stops and at the destination. If you're booking a return leg, we schedule it as a separate trip at the same rate rather than a locked round trip — this gives you flexibility on return dates without penalty.

Fleet configurations we operate

Single horse to two horses: Renault Krismar 2025 self-contained transporter — air-ride suspension, climate-controlled cabin, forced-air ventilation, non-slip rubber flooring, dual side doors for loading either side, 2.35m internal height, and live cabin monitoring. Three to four horses plus gear: same Krismar unit towing a matched Bockmann trailer, giving a four-slot configuration with two separate environments for horses that prefer to travel apart. For special cases — breeding stallions, highly reactive horses, mare+foal pairs — we can assign a single-horse run even in a four-slot configured transporter at the standard rate.
