How vet transport with HORSETRANS works
From first call to clinic handover — this is what happens on every veterinary transport we drive. We're a transport operator, not a vet. Your vet stays in charge of the medical side; we take care of getting your horse to them calmly and on time.
How you book
Reach us by email or phone with the pickup address, destination clinic, date and time — or, for urgent cases, the earliest slot you need. Dispatch confirms driver availability and sends you a quote. Once confirmed you receive the driver's name, the transporter's registration and a live GPS link. That's the whole booking step.
Pickup at your stable
The driver arrives at the agreed time. At loading we help move the horse into the transporter, photograph the horse for our own handover record, and take the passport plus any notes or medication your vet wants the destination clinic to receive. If your vet is giving a pre-trip sedative or any medication, your vet administers it — we don't. We drive the vehicle; we don't provide veterinary services.
The drive to the clinic
We drive smoothly — gentle acceleration, early braking, a slower pace than a standard transport. Every two to three hours we stop so the horse can drink. You get a live GPS link the whole way, and if you'd like we send photos from each rest stop so you can see the horse is settled.
Arrival and handover
Before arrival the driver calls the clinic so an unload bay is ready. At the clinic we unload at the designated entrance, hand the passport and your paperwork to reception, and stay on site until the clinic confirms they have the horse. If the horse is going home afterwards we schedule the return trip separately, once the clinic is ready to discharge.
